WBB: Chargers Pull Away from Terriers

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's basketball team fell to Colby-Sawyer 53-39 in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon at Larry Mahaney Gym.

The Terriers took control early in the first quarter, holding a 7-2 just over five minutes in and taking a 10-6 lead into the second. Thomas held their lead through much of the second frame, but Colby-Sawyer hung close. The Chargers overtook the Terriers lead late in the half and took a 22-19 edge into the break.

Colby-Sawyer distanced themselves in the third, outscoring Thomas 19-11 to take a 41-30 lead into the fourth. The Chargers continued to hold the Terriers at bay and came away with the 53-39 victory.

Addie Brinkman (Farmington, Maine) led the Terriers with 12 points and five rebounds. Molly Horton (Brownington, Vt.) added 11, while Molly Carroll (Southwest Harbor, Maine) chipped in 10.

Thomas will travel to Northern Vermont University-Johnson to continue their North Atlantic Conference schedule on Friday, January 11 at 7:30 PM.
