LEICESTER, Mass. – The Thomas College women's soccer team fell to Becker College 3-2 in double overtime on Saturday afternoon.
Becker struck first in the sixth minute with an unassisted goal by Kristen Beidleman. The Hawks held the 1-0 score through the half and went into the intermission with the lead.
Thomas evened the score in the 57th minute when Cassie Contigiani (Belmont, N.H.) fed a through ball from midfield to Katherine Hoving (Bristol, Maine), who found the back of the net for her first of the season. Becker took back the lead in the 70th minute with a Shannon Kelley goal. The Terriers forced overtime with a late goal in the 85th minute when Hoving found Katriana Pratt (Poland, Maine) in close for the tying goal.
After a scoreless overtime, Becker got the double overtime winner in the 107th minute when Kyra Teixeira scored.
Lyndsey Cobb-Wilkins earned the win in goal for Becker, stopping four shots on goal. Lauren Bartlett (Wells, Maine) took the loss for Thomas after a seven-save performance.
The Terriers will visit Elms College on Sunday, September 8 for a 1:00 PM contest.
